Various Sketch-Book Pages
So, these are pages from sketch books spanning from about 2000 to
2010 or even 2011 probably, they are in roughly chronological order. I have decided to put them up as I've begun to notice how similar some of the most
recent things I'm doing are to things which are very old.In a way this is almost a denial or refusal of the idea of development. There is a consistent
through thread of theme, topic, and interaction with my work and drawing especially.
There is development in my practice, I can spend more time on one thing now than I used to, and explore and refine it more. But the core
remains constant, and there are patterns in the waves of fluctuation, it is a vibration, a resonance. I can only move forward from where I am now, where I am
now is only as a result of where I was in the past. Free will is perhaps merely
a placebo for action.
